Their results remain high in a year when many New South Wales schools recorded lower literacy outcomes. North Sydney Girls High School posted strong marks across all domains, while North Sydney Boys High School recorded a numeracy score that stood as one of its strongest areas.

Comparison With Last Year

The 2024 NAPLAN averages provide context for the new results. North Sydney Girls High School had an average of 722.6 in 2024, which makes the 2025 outcome slightly lower.

North Sydney Boys High School recorded 706.4 in 2024, which makes the 2025 result higher by several points. These changes reflect year to year variation between different student groups. Both schools remained above most secondary schools listed in the rankings.

How The Results Fit Within Statewide Trends

The 2025 NAPLAN cycle showed mixed outcomes across New South Wales. Writing results for Year 5 students dropped in many schools, and several high income suburbs recorded declines in multiple domains. Some selective secondary schools recorded strong results, including gains in mathematics.

The results from the Crows Nest schools align with this trend, with stable averages and a strong numeracy score for North Sydney Boys High School. North Sydney Girls High School held a high position across all tested areas.

Focus On Performance And Long Term Trends

The updated NAPLAN data provides information on how students performed across key domains this year. The consistent results across both Crows Nest selective schools show steady performance when compared with the previous year.

The distinction between long term trends and yearly changes will become clearer as future NAPLAN reports are released, giving the community a broader view of student progress over time.
